OVRS Mission
Statement
To assist individuals with developmental disabilities and their families
to achieve what is important to them - at home and in the community.
Agency Overview
OVRS employs approximately 160
full and part time employees and has a network of about 30 contracted
foster providers providing services to roughly 180 individuals.
OVRS has developed an array of
services as the housing interests and needs of individuals have changed.
Home Settings - Single
apartments and family homes; every person has a bedroom in a family
environment. The level of personal support is based on
individual's need - from a few hours of assistance to 24/7.
In-Home Supports -
Trained staff to work in an individual's home or assisting family
members with an individual's care.
Foster Family Homes - A
network of adult foster homes; provides the intimacy of a family home.
Planned and Emergency
Respite Services - Many families need "respite" services - giving
them time away, which benefits both parties; available between just a
few hours a day to a couple of weeks. Immediate placement is also
available when a life changing event occurs; on short notice, providers
open their homes to relieve the crisis that may have occurred in ones
family.
