Employment at OVRS
As a personal service organization, OVRS desires and tries to hire and
train staff who demonstrate the skills to address the distinctive needs
of the Individuals who are developmentally disabled.
OVRS has worked to put into place three important
elements for effective organizations: competitive wages, above average

OVRS has a
variety of job positions within our structure. Employment
opportunities are the following:
Direct
Service Professional – This position provides support to the
Individuals within a given home site; family home or community
apartment.
Home
Coordinator – This position supervises and manages a specific home
site. It is also an integral part of direct service delivery.
Program
Coordinator – This position supervises 4-5 home site coordinators
and is responsible for overall coordination of services in those homes.
Business and
Administrative personnel
Ohio Valley
Residential Services accepts applications on an ongoing basis for the
Direct Support Professional [DSP] position. The DSP position is the
primary support delivery position within OVRS.

The
Individuals need a wide range of assistance. Some need
assistance maintaining their apartment and getting around the
community. Others need full assistance with every part of their daily
life. An application for the DSP position must be completed at the
Victory Parkway office.
Successful
candidates for the DSP position must meet the following requirements:
Ø
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
(Candidates will need
to show proof of this upon hire.)
Ø
Satisfactory background check with the State of Ohio
Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation [BCII] and from the
FBI
Ø
Valid driver's license and a good driving record
Ø
Ability to pass a work fitness exam. This includes a 50lb
lift test as per the needs of the position.
Ø
Clean drug test screen.
