Accessing OVRS Services

All referrals to MR/DD services in the state of Ohio go through the local county board of MR/DD. If an Individual needs services – housing support, day work program, infant stimulation, school age services, etc. county board staff will assess the Individual. The phone number for the Hamilton County Board is 513-794-3300.

Within a very short period, the county board will assign the Individual or family a support service administrator (SSA), or, sometimes called, service facilitator to contact the family to learn of the specific service needs and service options.

Explore service needs with OVRS

Any family or Individual may request a specific service agency like OVRS as a way to by-pass the sometimes cumbersome process of finding a service provider. If someone contacts the OVRS office for service, the OVRS staff will refer you to the county board.

At the same time, we will offer to discuss the Individual’s and family’s desires.

Any Individual or family is welcome to visit and explore the option of using the support services of OVRS. We would be delighted to set up a visit to review those options.
