Residential Services
Residential
programs often mean the same thing as licensed homes. Licensed sites are
those housing arrangements for which the State of Ohio licenses the
location for a specific person or number of persons. OVRS has 116
licenses. They range from a single site license to a setting of eight
licenses, for eight people. All of the homes and apartments shown on the
OVRS web site are licensed. They are either owned or managed by OVRS.
Is there a
value to a license in a world of Supported Living?
OVRS believes strongly that licenses offer Individuals and families
an additional oversight because those sites have to adhere to special
rules and regulations that are reviewed and enforced by the Ohio
Department of MR/DD. |

The rules
focus on the condition of the building, and the accountability of the
Individual’s personal funds and personal possessions.
OVRS believes
that a hallmark of its licensed sites is that each person has his or her
own bedroom and private space. Additionally, seven of the sites are
four-unit apartment buildings. Not only is there privacy of bedrooms,
but the separation of apartment units allows individuals who may not
interact with others easily to live in an extremely cost effective
congregate setting.
